German security specialist nominated in the Best UTM Security Solution category
Hamburg, Germany. 4 March 2019 – Today’s increasing threat situation makes massive demands on a company to keep its IT infrastructure efficient and flexible. The issue is exacerbated by the lack of qualified staff, leading to bottlenecks in the IT security team. Against this backdrop, the German security provider Secucloud helps lighten companies’ workload by making its cloud-based security solution available on a B2B basis as a comprehensive managed security service. This solution, called Secuscaler, has been nominated by the US-based SC Magazine for one of this year’s SC Trust Awards in the Best UTM Security Solution category. This is the second time in a row that Secucloud has made it to the finalist round. With its awards, SC Magazine honors the merits and innovation capabilities of security specialists in their fight against the increasing prevalence of cyberthreats on the internet. The prizes will be awarded at a festive gala event on March 5 in San Francisco.
“Every new year brings with it an unpredictable mix of adversity and opportunity for information security professionals,” said Illena Armstrong, VP, editorial, SC Media. “In 2018, we watched as ransomware took down entire city governments, popular online platforms were accused of mishandling user data, and technology giants announced an unprecedented industry-wide effort to solve the Spectre and Meltdown CPU vulnerabilities. Nobody understands the cybersecurity battle better than the cybersecurity professionals who work day in and day out to clean up and protect businesses from malicious attacks. Secucloud is one of a select few to receive this tremendous recognition of a Trust Award finalist and has emerged as true leader in its space.”
Innovative B2B solution for businesses
With the Secuscaler managed service solution, dealers and resellers can offer companies of all sizes a package of powerful security technologies. These can be scaled flexibly according to customers’ needs and always stay up to date with no extra workload for admin staff. Based on a sophisticated firewall-as-a-service (FWaaS), it protects modern company networks, such as SD-WANs, from attack in a centralized and efficient way. This gives customers the highest level of protection for their sensitive company data and valuable intellectual property.
Secuscaler is based on Secucloud’s modular Elastic Cloud Security System (ECS2) with its combination of powerful security mechanisms that ensure the highest level of security in the company network. They include sandbox technologies and deep packet inspection as well as IDS and IPS systems. Combined, these analyze the data stream before sending any data to the user, so any suspicious behavior or harmful data packets are blocked automatically before they reach the company network.
“In the battle against cyber-criminals, targeted hacker attacks and industrial espionage, companies should never lower their guard,” says Dennis Monner, CEO of Secucloud. “To ensure the security industry is always a step ahead, it’s important to continually verify existing security solutions and adopt the latest technological developments in the form of practical, user-oriented solutions. With Secuscaler, we’ve combined the technologies of the future – FWaaS and SD-WAN – to create extremely powerful protection that is tailored to customers’ requirements and designed for use in today’s business environment. The fact that the panel of experts has nominated our approach for the Best UTM Security Solution award is naturally a huge honor for us and a confirmation of our unremitting commitment to innovation.”
