Seasoned Technology Leader Joins Bullhorn at a Period of Unprecedented Growth; Will Focus on Growing Leaders, Helping Bullhorn Scale to the Next Level, and Expanding into New Geographies
BOSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Bullhorn®, the cloud computing company that helps staffing and recruiting organizations transform their businesses, today announced that Kristin Machacek Leary, a technology executive with decades of experience leading talent management and HR functions at high-performing, large-scale global companies, has joined the company as its Chief People Officer. Leary will be based at the company’s headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts and will serve on the company’s Senior Leadership Team.
Leary joins Bullhorn from Hitachi Vantara, where she served as Chief Human Resources Officer. Previously, Leary spent more than two years as Chief Human Resources Officer at Forcepoint, a Vista Equity Partners-backed cybersecurity company with 3,000 employees operating in more than 45 countries. Leary has spent her career primarily leading people functions at high-growth enterprise technology and healthcare companies including Alphatec Spine, Boston Scientific, and Hewlett-Packard. She has extensive experience leading high-potential companies through breakthrough growth and brings a depth of knowledge of organizational design, scalable processes, and flexible systems culled from some of the most successful global companies in the world.
At Bullhorn, which is often ranked on “best places to work” lists for its culture of employee inclusion and commitment to customer service, Leary will focus on building the organization and systems capacity to help Bullhorn scale to the next level, build leadership capacity, and grow in global markets. A core component of these endeavors will be investment in internal leadership development and training. With 28 years of experience in global HR spent helping advance learning, talent, and organizational capabilities, Leary is looking forward to building out a strong bench of leadership talent and internal capacity at Bullhorn – a tech company that is unique amongst its peers for having an extended leadership team that is more than 65 percent “homegrown.”
Leary has a passion for growing employees’ careers and developing leaders, a source of critical value to companies that allows them to successfully operate in new geographies, new sectors, and drive greater returns for customers and investors. Her leadership tenure at companies is often associated with periods of rapid scale for those companies; one such example is Boston Scientific, where she worked for nearly 11 years starting in 1996 and which she helped grow into the medical device powerhouse it is today.
“I was attracted to Bullhorn for the tremendous value proposition it offers its customers,” said Leary. “It really serves a unique market and does so incredibly well, and it has such a remarkable culture. All the energy of a startup even at twenty years in, but with the maturity and talent of a Fortune 500. My first priority at Bullhorn will be leveraging and building on the great successes the company has experienced to date, determining what we want to accomplish from a business strategy point of view, and then ensuring we have the organizational structure and people resources we need to achieve that. My goal is to accelerate Bullhorn’s growth globally, and to understand how to best allocate and maximize the potential of the talent and leadership resources we already have, augmenting those wherever necessary.”
“Kristin is a business leader first, and an HR leader second,” said Art Papas, founder and CEO at Bullhorn. “She understands human capital as a competitive advantage and how to motivate and inspire people from a business standpoint to reach their full potential and embrace a culture of inclusion and high performance. Her mix of public and private company experience is invaluable at this stage of our growth trajectory, and she will be a crucial part of our senior leadership team.”
