Ole Miss football coach Hugh Freeze visits Pascagoula
Perhaps now more than ever being transparent is vital for the Ole Miss football program. Tonight, Head coach Hugh Freeze took full advantage of the opportunity to do just that in Pascagoula. As part of the 2017 Bancorp South Rebel Road Trip, the Hotty Toddy faithful gathered at the Hilton Garden Inn to get their spring fix of Ole Miss football, posing for pictures and lining up for autographs, all just part of the fun. Meanwhile, school administrators continue its battle with the NCAA behind closed doors, although Freeze as well as Athletic Director Ross Bjork are in agreement about being an open book. “That's really a staple of the values of Ole Miss, right? Is being transparent, being a family, being honest with each other and I think that builds trust. And so the response has been really good. We've been trying to send that message of okay, here it is. Let's hit it head on. There's nowhere to go, there's nowhere to hide. We could have canceled the Rebel Road Trip. That would have been the easy part, but this is what leadership is about and I think facing it, I think people appreciate that,” said Bjork. “I let them handle all those things, and I think just us being seen to know that our people are seeing us out. Hey, and we're moving forward and getting ready to move past it and certainly we're not proud of the fact that we're having to go through it, but we're ready to move past it,” said Freeze. Over the last five years, the Rebel Road Trip has gone through 35 markets, hosting more than 19,000 fans across seven states.
