After being coerced into working for a crime boss (Kevin Spacey), a young getaway driver (Ansel Elgort) finds himself taking part in a heist doomed to fail. Writer/director Edgar Wright has fashioned a slick entertainment that perfectly melds music and action with a glib sensibility that pokes fun at the material while energizing it. It comes apart during the third act but by that time, Wright and his game cast – which also includes Jamie Foxx, John Hamm and Hon Bernthal – have accrued so much good will that these faults can be forgiven. 3 ½ Stars (Chuck Koplinski) Rated R. 113 minutes.
