WELCOME THIS MORNING SUSAN HUFF WITH THE SHELTER ASHLEY TAGGART, HHS ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL AND THEATER DIRECTOR LAUREN SUDDOTH TO TELL US ABOUT A DOG'S LIFE... http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12463/6777581?cpt=8&wpid=2637 WATN >> local memphis live continues with your host, amy speropoulos. >>amy: right now the hernando and will shelter is working out of a building that has room only 10 dogs and a handful of cats. they rely largely on foster parents in the community that can take in the dogs and cats that come in. that is going to change very soon hopefully because the community is coming together. the high school to specifically joining forces to present a plate that will make you laugh and cry. susan huff is joining us from the hernando animal shelter. is a principal of the school. we are going to start with you guys because you all are with hernando high school. this show is going to be fabulous. >> yes, ma'am. it was our concentration: we placed first at mississippi state university. >>amy: congratulations. >> they worked really hard and we went on to the state competition and have the. they did really well and we had some all-star cast members and they got awards. once it was over we had a great idea and we are ready to help out. so we wanted to be able to bring that to our community in a way to give it a different outlook of the way the dogs perceive their life at the shelter. we got with miss susan huff with the city of hernando and we are offering a pay what you can show on february 16. all donations will go straight to the animal shelter of fernando and helping them to build some of the other things they need. >>amy: you are new by the way. how badly is it needed? >> it is needed. badly. our shelter is tiny. it is heated and cooled but only holds about 10 dogs and a handful of cats. the only able we are able to handle all the needs of hernando's on was passed is for volunteers who foster animals in their own homes. we are so grateful for this. we are so happy to have that. it is going to help us raise awareness that we need to build more funds to build a new shelter. originally all hernando had the four 2008 were dog houses in the north lagoons which is now the hernando soccer field. luckily our mayor is an animal lover and he talked to us and saw that a real shelter was built. it is tiny that it is heated and cooled. we have outgrown that. it is just way too small. >>amy: i'm sure. teaches, at a young age, i have three rescue dogs. my started learning when they came out of the womb how important it is to give rescue animals a shot. that is profound so you are doing to incredible thing. i know you are thrilled about that. >> what we want to do is build a family-friendly animal friendly, beautiful shelter in the middle of the park which is we want it to be a happy place. >>amy: absolutely and this theater where it is being held holds 500 people so let's hack can house many more animals in the shelter. we will give you a sneak peek and just a little bit. it is one you don't want to miss. thank you, ladies. >> we are getting back to health with doctor david wooten at first we want to pause and take
