>> it means is very civil. means to take a moment and realized where you are spending your dollars both in the business sector and the consumer sector and see if there is an opportunity to bring a little bit of that back to a local service provider. we think there's no better time to be doing this and be thoughtful about that since this week which isthis week . >> yes. >> small business week is an effort by the us small business administration to really shine the spotlight on small businesses, startups, entrepreneurs and the german is value that they bring to our national economy if you think about that locallythey are often businesses that make central iowa unique and after that special fabric that make central iowa central iowa . we really want to encourage to take a look especially if there business as if there's an opportunity to listen with the provider because we do have so many amazing experts and schmidt's company so they can help our own businesses do more. >> we are very blessed here locally that we have some incredible small local or should not save small but local businesses to help us up and other things that people maybe do not even think about pricking that is why you are saying look at maybe where you are purchasing or getting things done because her might be local business i can do it for other things that people are like no i do not even think of that. >> is suppressing for think we have talked about buying local. we just thought the consumer delaware would buy her clothes and will rebuy our pens and pencils and those types of things which is absolutely critical. the campaign actually stems back to some research that we worked on through iowa state university were tapped into their economy referred to really get around what the issue is. just central iowa and just business-to-business teller with news $13.4 billion on annual basis and they call that's licorice. those are purchases made by will embrace not locate here. >> they could be purchased here. >> most of it could for some of those things we just do not make your. that is okay for some of the things are definitely opportunities to shift back. we really work with them to intensify some areas where weekend shifts as some of them may surprise you. >> what are some of the ones you are talking about? >> you'd be surprised to know thatwe have a big opportunity when comes to financial services and insurance and banking . >> really? i thought we were number one. >> we are in the insurance capital but there is an opportunity for improvement perhaps for some of those things might surprise you. >> it did surprise me. >> yeah. legal services, advertising, some of those types of things even distribution are areas where we excel and what we could potentially bring some of that were back to central iowa corrective some the best advertising agencies in the country right here in des moines. >> what is ironic about this is that many of those companies are providing services on a national scale but sometimes at the local level there overlooked. this is absolutely the perfect opportunity to reach out to the company set up that meeting or to stop by that restaurant that you been meaning to stop into. the goal is to encourage folks to really look after spending maybe even just look at your payables by zip code because over time things change and there autopilot is pretty strong sometimes.is just easier to kind of hit repeat . this is definitely the week to be examining that. the goal is to just shift five percent of that back so not asking you to make any bullish judgments with regardsto your financial organization but that five percent can make a tremendous impact financially on the local economy . that is $672 million of an infusion and that refers to the economy could be $1 billion in probably 6 to 500 jobs. is a small shift in just be mindful of where you are spendingthe potential impact . >> how long has this effort been put forth come hello him and try to focus on small businesses like this? >> where a strong focus on small business and all aspects and we always will as an organization of the greater des moines partnership. week to focus on this effort twice a year to really echo that message during small business week and then again during small business saturday run the holidays. it justseems timely to reinforce that public awareness opportunity. >> have you seen, has it helped? >> think it has helped . it's a little tricky to quantify because that data is wagging. so we can always say was absolutely this but there have definitely been shifts in that i feel like there's a momentum around central and perhaps the nation to support and embrace those small businesses and really make sure they thrive. >> speaking small businesses come historic valley junction, farmers market things like that, the shops will be open in the area. if you have not been into it for a while you may want to stop and. >> have somebody in the east village consuming errors on the trip or if they want to make a better effort to purchase more locally with products i buy on a regular basisis there i knows probably not easy to go to one page and here's something listed but is there a way . >> we had to make it really easy actually. dsm is our website and it talk about the campaign offer some of those staffs into those data pieces but also provides a directory . you can happen there and find an ad agency. like we were talkingabout are some of the amazing restaurants that have popped up in the central iowa . >> i can keep track of the new things that are popping up here and it's like
