"i waved goodbye to my family in the rear view mirror and it was so tough."villarreal started working at a restaurant... while getting experience in the film industry. felicia villarreal / asu graduate & filmmaker "putting yourself as many gigs as you can, whether it's doing ng from working behind the scenes... to interviewing stars on the red carpet. villarreal's main focus though... writing the script for the independent film... "aver.""aver means to assert with confidence. and that's what tdetermined and she avers " it's about the girl's journey crossing the rio grande... to live the american dream."i've been writing this story for 4 years. and it so happens to be a controversial topic today. it's very relavent."she says the story is not meant to divide people but share the character's journey."there's always going to be differences among people, unavoidable differences, although it's not commentares on political policies, it's more of a tale about a young woman following her dreams and reuniting with the most important thing to her and that's family."it's the story about her great- grandmother in the 1920s but also shadows her own journey. "towards the end, it's a reflection of my life as an independent woman in hollywood."she says filmmakers who've read her script have already been impacted."it's a great feeling knowing that it hasn't hit the big screen yet and it's already touching people."villarreal is hoping to raise enough money to be able to make this a full length film."i just hope the people of san angelo will see the beauty and the positivity in aver."--filming is expected to start in june.she's hoping to shoot part of it in the concho valley.reporting from the ksan studio.
