This documentary is to raise awareness and show Daniel's story. http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12463/6923921?cpt=8&wpid=2637 WLUC we >>> the story of an athlete who battled depression and ultimately took his own life will be shared this sunday. we're looking at a documentary about daniel olson and the impact it's having on upper michigan schools. >> do it for daniel tells the story of daniel olson. he took his own life in july 2012. >> the inside never matched the outside. he would put a smile on his face and fooled everything. >> if you didn't know he had depression, you wouldn't have known it. i would not show it at all. >> the family are using the story to teach people about mental illness. >> the documentary will be shown at 4:00 this sunday, and the documentary premiered last august to a packed crowd and daniel's father has shown it to 15 schools. >> it's been phenomenal. every school we go to, it seems that some kids come forward after that and ask for help, whether they do it with their parents, whether they do it with a counselor. >> jeff olson said that's why they want to do it. >> i talked to a few counselors and they said at this point in time it's probably the worst it's ever been or worse that they've seen, the problem is the stigma, you know people don't want to come forward, people don't understand what's going on with them, so, we want to make it commonplace, that this is a real medical disease that can be treated, it's very, very treatable. >> again, that's sunday at 4:00 at peterson auditorium. there's
