Emilie Ikeda reports LIVE Tue, 20 Jun 2017 17:32:13 +0000 MonCo tornado VOSOT LIVE Emilie Ikeda reports LIVE WHAG a tornado touched down in montgomery county yesterday afternoon -- as severe thunderstorms hit the four-state. w-h-a-g's emilie ikeda joins us live from silver spring -- where the storm caused serious damage... to homes. emilie: michella -- i actually was driving on the i-c-c during the brunt of yesterday's storm.... and the sheets of rain were so thick, a lot of cars pulled over -- waiting for it to pass.... now behind me you can see the aftermath of the storm... the national weather service confirmed a tornado did touch down in montgomery county yesterday from 348 to 349 p-m.... i spoke with surveyors -- who were out here last night -- they ranked it the lowest grade on the enhanced fujita scale -- estimating peak winds around 70 miles per hour. downed trees crashed into homes -- and power lines -- fortunately, no injuries or deaths were reported at this point.... but as you can see some of these homes are just unhabitable right now -- mainly in a three block area of silver spring.... i'm standing on northwood avenue .... the tornado ran its course one street over -- on dennis avenue. it was about 100 yards wide. reporting live in montgomery county -- emilie ikeda - i270 news... michella? michella: thank you emilie... we'll continue to follow the aftermath of this tornado. tonight you'll hear from residents in the area. michella: the
