feed an agent. we're talking about this with these gorgeous people at the table. gorge morris and also aaron with century 21 everett realty group, this is courtney. she is a recent homeowner. well, home buyer we should say. >> all right so george i'm just going to come right out. what is the hesitancy people have with hiring an agent? >> hold on, first you said i was gorgeous. but you know, the second would be hey, look, this is an interesting market with it being as white hot as it is. but the reality is this, that we are-- you look at the results of this business and it comes down to a results-based business. so often we are comparing ourselves against hourly rates or salaries that individuals earn. but the reality is is for an individual buyer or seller. it is about the results that they have. and so in the end it is all about the leadership that we offer, the realtors of century 21 offer and have i one of the best right here. aaron mailer and she is a rock star when it comes to selling real estate and helping clientds get what they need and want. >> let's talk about that. because you guys, first of all, how did you meet, how did this relationship come about. >> we met at a house that i had listed, courtney and her husband called me to see the house and we met there and the first thing they said to me is just so you know, we're not going to use a real estate agent. we want to save the money. we're going to represent ourselves, you know, we hit it off at that initial meeting and i kept in touch with them and eventually helped them purchase their home. >> why were you hesitant. what were your concerns. >> i think the unknown, you know, to know, there's money involved, trying to save money, you want more for your buck but in the end it is a complicated process and i realize i can't do this on my own. >> you look at that percentage and realize that agent really earned that percentage when they put the work into it. >> aaron earned her money on our home for sure. >> let's talk about that. when were you going through the home and doing your walk through, what did you discover. what did. >> one thing that we noticed right off the bat is that we thought there was a discep see in the square footage. we had it measured by an a praizer. they were off by several hundred if not over a thousand square feet. so we were able to negotiate the price of that home down aggressively. i don't know what you think, i don't know if it would have been easy to do without an agent that knew how to navigate that situation. >> just dealing with the contracts alone that aaron helped us with, that was incredible for us. and the verbage of it all, that was something that we could have never done on your own. >> you're happy with the results. very, very. >> would you hire an agent again. >> i would hire her. >> of course. >> that was a given that would be airing. >> yeah, no, we had a great relationship, we ended up becoming lunch friends, and i am so grateful i was able to make a friendship and get a wonderful plies price on a home that we love. >> do you have other stories, other courtneys in your life. >> i have a million different stories i could tell you about, situations that weren't expected that we had encountered in real estate transactions. i always say like i'm a professional problem solver. that's what i do. and so you know, just a couple months ago i met with a home seller and we were talking about what they wanted to sell their home for. they told me we think it's worth $350,000. well, i walked through the home and am like you tbies you can fill it a lot more. we just close on it two weeks ago for 45,000 more, there are a lot of ways that we go in and help people with a million different situations. >> one of the myths is that you look at the industry and think an agent does one thing which is simply to market. when you take a step back you start to realize that the majority of homes can go under contract or into escrow actually never close. so meaning that the home has to be almost resold again because the usually the leadership is involved. although we are called realtors, the reality is what you are hering is a leader to navigate, to oversee the transactions, negotiate the best possible price, not only just the price but also the inspections and what can be done there. and so often we think as a buyer, we go directly to the agent that is actually lifting the home. we could get a better price but the reality is you have someone negotiating against you in so many words at some level or has a seller's ?best interest becaue that was the initial client and you may lose out on an inspection, you may lose out on the cost of the home, you may lose out on things that get swept to the side, they may not seem like a big deal but they are when you have the recommendation. >> and talking about the right representation, you guys, what do your agents specifically do to help their clients. >> my statement is this. and that is our number one job is to get or to assist another individual getting what they want. and if we can adjust that and have that, have that happen, we're hoping people live the american dream, home ownership where their families will be raised, where memories are created, where some of their greatest wealth will be built. and real estate is one of the most important financial tools that we use. i mean to acquire wealth and consistency for our lives and our future. so i look at the fact of what do we do? we really help people live their dreams. >> love that. all
