'is this the first step of a two step process?' those are the words elaine thomas asked herself before god told her to open up her business. i spent the day at miss hattie's to learn more about the restaurant and how elaine plans on getting by after the advisory is lifted. :05-12 :22 :43 :59 bells rings for chef "i wanna do it, so i praye about it and prayed about it. i said okay god if this is what you want me to do, you've gotta work it out, you've gotta make it happen." and that is just what he did. miss hattie's kitchen and bakery has been in business for six years, but is taking a hit because of a boil water advisory. elaine thomas says she's never experienced anything like this. "it's a huge impact on our ban account because you know we have a mortgage to pay and we're a small business. we're just a mom and pop business." a mom and pop business that thrives off people eating there often. "every dollar, ever customer that comes through that door is important to us and we don't have the financial backing of a major corporation." standup miss hattie's kitchen & bakery was closed yesterday due to the boil water advisory and whether they reopen tonight will depend on if the advisory turns faucet on is lifted emergency management director matthew perry says the computer inside the water tower, thought the tower was full. "when in fact it was not and s it slowly through, over the day, let the water run out without having the pump kick on to fill the tower back up." this caused the pipes to run dry so the department issued an advisory. "just be patient remember that this is precautionary and that there are rules that go through epd that we're doing this for people's safety." so thomas is lef waiting.. "the best we can hop for at this point is that the ban can be lifted tonight and that we can open for business friday, saturday, and sunday of this week . we only have 3 days left of business out of 5 day business week. " and she hopes the community will swing by hattie's to help make up for the days she's lost. in monroe county, emanuela rendini, 41nbc news. perry says the water is still at the lab being tested so there is still no word on when the advisory will be lifted for boiling broke. thomas says she's eager to get back to business. i witnessed many people coming by the restaurant while i was there,
