"like all of us we love sports right, and when you see people doing their personal bests improving every year it's exciting. it's about commitment and making friendships, and each year we get bigger and better." busy day for the folks in muldoon, both bocce and golf kicking off saturday and today winners were crowned. these are two of around thirty sports recognized by the national special olympics, and are unified sports competition that means teams were made up of athletes with and without dissabilities which is a unified sport. we caught up with some gold medal teams after today's action, and asked them how it felt. "being able to compete with all the other state teams and we had a good time. we tried are best and ended up with gold." "we've been a team for four years now. to win the gold after four years of working really hard. that feels really good." still plenty of time for folks to sign up for the polar plunge this winter on december seventeenth at goose lake. thats a fundraiser for special olympics alaska from bocce to the backfield. it's our first official weekend of the n-f-l season, and division rivals dallas taking on new york. cowboys the reigning n-f-c east champs, and playing with a ezekial elliot in this game. two minutes to go in the half. dak prescott finds jason witten for the touchdown thirteen nothing cowboys. fourth quarter. it's prescot finding receiver cole beasely.....who bobbles the ball.....but somehow catches it. dallas would go on to win this game nineteen to three, and here cowboys head coach jason garrett after the big win. i thought it was a good team win for us. obviously there's so much we got to clean up througout our football team but there were a lot of good things on offense. i thought we did a good job controlling the line of scrimmage and controlling the game for the most part. had a lot of plays in the first half. would like to cash in on that war. but again, i think we did a good job controlling it with a good mix of run and pass, to green bay. packers opening the season at home against the seahawks. third quarter russell wilson drops back and mike daniels forces the fumble. packers recover and have a first and goal from the six. very next play, aaron rodgers hands off to ty montgomery who punches it in to give the packers a 7-3 lead. then in the fourth. packers going to extend their lead, rodgers finds jordy nelson for the t-d. green bay wins this game seventeen to nine. finally tonight. we talk a little tennis as the u-s open wraps up in new york this afternoon. the u-s open men's singles final is very much a david versus goliath match-up when world number one rafael nadal takes on the 28-th seed kevin anderson. before last week, anderson reached just one quarterfinal in the 34 majors he had played in his 10-year career. nadal would go on to win three sets to take the match and win his sixteenth grand slam titel. when we come back...it's a goodbye to summer while
