http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12453/7126515?cpt=8&wpid=2637 Thu, 12 Oct 2017 04:26:17 +0000 CMU Men's Soccer: Mavs Bounce Back with 6-Goal Win CMU Men's Soccer: Mavs Bounce Back with 6-Goal Win http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12453/7126515?cpt=8&wpid=2637 KREX the cmu men's the cmu men's soccer team luckily doesn't need to bounce back from a loss often... tonight at walker field was not one of those cases... the uccs cougars upset the mavs on sunday... and unfortunatley for westminster... they happened to be next up on the mavericks schedule... moshe perez and kevin del mazo both scored in the first three minutes to put the mavs up by two... and it stayed that way until the half... second half and del mazo adds another, beating the griffin goalie to the far post.. and the best part about scoring? you get to dance... mavs lead by three... in the 63rd minute... redshirt freshman niall shaffery scores the first goal of his maverick career and cmu's fifth goal of the game... the mavs tack on one more with just 34 seconds left in the game... taka kosins beats his defender then sets up ken dizon for the finish... it was also dizon's first career goal... cmu scores a season - high six goals to beat westminster... and that was exaclty the "old adage, right, for a coach, you can learn more from losses if you let yourself than you can wins. i thought the guys did a great job at receiving some criticism that was maybe a little difficult for them to hear yesterday. they let themselves grow, and i think we definitely took a step in the right direction tonight... we can't afford to drop any more games and we knew that. so the whole team, we brought eachother up.
