The Moline Maroons are 4-0 in the Western Big Six and they are going to battle Alleman on October 13 in their conference finale. http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12451/7127892?cpt=8&wpid=2637 WHBF kidwell. the moline maroons have had an incredible run this season. they haven't lost a game in conference play---and now they are getting ready for another western big six battle when they take on alleman tomorrow dan vasko was at the maroons practice he breaks it down for us.senior quarterback) "we've been stoked all week, we don't want anything less than an outright title."(dan there's no mincing of words for the moline football team. after locking up a share of the western big six title last week, they're going for it all friday night against alleman. 15(mike morrissey/moline head coach) "i think excitement for sure. i think it's one of those opportunities that these kids have been thinking about since last novemeber when we started the offseason program and everything else. that hard work has paid off and at least put them in a position to win it outright. but really it's focusing on beating another quality opponent, competing against them at a high level and playing our game, that's as exciting as anything else for these guys at this point." 35(marcus atnip/moline senior rb/lb) "i just think that we need to just continue winning and try get a home game in the playoffs. i mean we came into the week pretty focused, i think it's been a pretty good week of practice so far, so i just think we're going to do good in this game."(vasko) it won't be an easy task for the maroons. they're taking on a pioneers team that's also looking for a share of the conference title. and they bring with them a triple option threat, something unique to moline's schedule this season.(morrisssey) "they're tough to defend just because it's something different that you don't see every week. the fact that you get three days to prepare for a team that's been running this system forever it makes it hard, it makes it challenging, but that's part of the fun."(vasko) and there's been no shortage of fun for the maroons in 2017. after winning just two games a season ago, they've secured a trip to the playoffs, and their script is still being written."123(maffie) "we're so excited. this is the most fun we've ever had in our lives to be honest. it's just this season's been awesome, coach morrisey's been awesome. it's just been really fun playing the game of football."(vasko) in moline, dan vasko, local 4 sports.
