Whitesboro @ New Hartford hockey, Dolgeville @ Sauquoit Valley girls volleyball, Comets @ Rockets Thu, 11 Jan 2018 04:29:30 +0000 Scores 2-Day: January 10, 2018 Whitesboro @ New Hartford hockey, Dolgeville @ Sauquoit Valley girls volleyball, Comets @ Rockets WKTV good evening! new hartford and whitesboro. two schools that when they go head to head - it doesn't matter what sport it is - you know it's going to be fun. tonight - we head to the ice where the teams continued their long lasting rivalry in boys hockey. new hartford recreation center the site for this one - the spartans got the better of the warriors at the beginning of the season so whitesboro looking for payback tonight on the road. --- no scoring after one so we head to the second - it was all goalies early on. warriors' declan simmons skates up the left wing - dekes outside then drives to the net - tries to chip it up top but juliano macera shrugs it off. we remain scoreless. --- spartans on the penatly kill now - but a bobble at the blue line and shane calhoun is off to the races. settles the rolling puck and then snaps a shot but jake domagal shuts the door covering up the five-hole and we're still at zeroes. --- with under two minutes remaining - spartans in the offensive zone. aiden joy with the dangles around the defender - then he turns and fires from the point - and that travels all the way through traffic and hits the back of the net. new hartford strikes first and the tie is broken. --- but howabout this - right off the ensuing faceoff - whitesboro gains control. simmons just over the blue line lets a slapshot rip - it deflects off a spartan defender's stick and missles top shelf. just over 10 seconds after falling down by one - the warriors come right back... ...that momentum carried in the third as the whitesboro notches another one and they win it 2-1. in girls volleyball - another good one on tap tonight. a battle of the second and third place teams in the c-s-c two as sauquoit valley hosted dolgeville with plenty of time to shift playoff positioning. special night out in sauquoit as it was think pink night. the gym decked out in pink ribbons and banners with proceeds going toward breast cancer research. --- in the first set - sauquoit in possession. kimmy whittaker with the set - kiley lazarek the jump and spike - too hot to handle. point indians - they trail it 21-15. --- later in the set - dolgeville has it. lauren george puts it up for bobbie lee hall who hits it and takes a little bit off it. the deception as that change up lands in the empty space between the sauquoit formation. 22-15 blue devils. --- set point for dolgeville. off the serve - sauquoit trying for the return - but hannah chorlton standing tall for the big block at the net and that one can't be handled. set one goes to the blue devils. --- in set two - sauquoit gaining early momentum. maryann lewandrowski with the set - kacey simmons with the spike. that's a lazer. how about a little virtual reality - coming at ya! i wanna play! multi-tasking as the indians get the point but i get the save. --- kinsey randall serving for dolgeville now - she sends it just out of the reach of paige harris for the ace... ...dolgeville had to win two straight sets after falling behind - but they get it done winning it 3-2. the comets returned to action tonight after winning their last two over the weekend. one of those wins came against the laval rocket - who they took on tonight on the road. make it three in a row for utica - they waltz into place bell and come away with a big 5-1 win. adam comrie and cole cassels each had a goal and an assist for the comets while thatcher demko made 36 saves on 37 shots between the pipes. ahl all-star chris terry scored the lone goal for the rocket - as the comets scored five straight to take this one. utica returns home to the cozy confines of the aud on friday night when they look to win their fourth straight game - in a galaxy cup matchup against the syracuse crunch. puck drop is at
