Mississippi State Men’s Basketball postseason bound

By Clip Syndicate
On the men’s side, Mississippi State is post-season bound for the first time since 2012, ending a five year drought in between NIT bids. The four-seed Bulldogs had their SEC Tournament run come up short in the quarterfinals to Tennessee and will look to bounce back against five seed Nebraska in the first round on Wednesday. MSU played the Huskers back in October in exhibition play, losing by four at home. So here they meet again in year three of the Ben Howland era with the dancing Dawgs ready to get some tournament pedigree on a roster that’s only losing one senior to graduation. Mississippi State Head Men’s Basketball Coach Ben Howland said, “Oh I think it's great, especially for a young team. You've got to remember now, we don't have a senior. We don't have anybody that's ever played in postseason, this is a great experience. I mean it's tournament play. And getting that tournament action and that tournament preparation I think is a good thing. And it's fun. I mean c'mon this is a great experience for them, and the goal is obviously for every team that is in this tournament is to try to get to Madison Square Garden Mississippi State will tip off its road to the Garden against Nebraska at 8 p.m. Wednesday from Starkville on ESPN2.
