[g10]hs bsb jamboree-wipe vo cross town rival north medford jumped right into the line of fire and was the first to scrimmage south today. it was zack collins who got the ball in his first live action of his senior season. the black tornado don't roll in with a flashy roster... but it's one that's quickly growing up. and after the panthers on top, the rest of the conference is wide open and there for the taking. [g11]hs bsb jamboree-sot brett says, "last year was pretty much all new guys for us as far as playing varsity baseball so this is pretty much the second year of the nucleus that i have now. they're lunch pail guys. they're not going to stand out too much as far as being top, exceptional players, but they're very very good and they compete really hard and they play the game the right way." [g12]hs bsb jamboree-wipe vo and then there's grants pass. fifth place finishers in the conference a year ago and a team that graduated nine seniors. so they're young... and they also have a new head coach. kevin schafer going from north valley to g-p. turns out... he has some serious credentials. he played college baseball at southern idaho and has coached at the collegiate level as well. kevin says, "been a pitching coach before i went to north valley i was the pitching able to coach at the highest level at the 6a level. the process was great. i work inside the school so that's another opportunity i get to see our kids every day." and the ducks are going
