Alyssa Charleston reports on the Eags from Cheney Sat, 14 Apr 2018 06:28:35 +0000 Eagles Spring Scrimmage Alyssa Charleston reports on the Eags from Cheney KXLY last year - the eastern washington eagles turned in a 7-4 record... a season many thought was good enough to crack the f-c-s playoffs. unfortunately - the playoff committee did not share that opinion. this year- their mission is to take the decision out of the committee's hands altogether. alyssa charlston was at their spring scrimmage this afternoon in cheney... 3 alyssa: "off-season to use a little longer than coach best and the eagles are used to after missing out of the playoffs this year there was a little extra edge as they took the field for scrimmage todaywhat a face vectors they are windy weather in april making this much more of a defensive show aaron best: you're excited about red zone turnovers and on the other half you're kind of cringing inside as an offensive coach or a former offensive coach like darn it, we could've done away with it stole at least 3 points on the other side of it but guys are going to make plays and so we just want to make sure those plays are made because they made a great play and we didn't gift it to them. calin criner: for the safeties our challenge was to challenge the receivers so all of us just tried to attack at and we got our three. every day our goal is to get at least three turnovers and if not we run but today we got out three so we're good. terence grady:i saw some good things on our side of the ball started to run the ball pretty strong. but it's kind of tough in the rain you know when we have this sort of weather to throw the ball a lot sling with ball so we had a couple drops we wish we could have back. aaron best: at the end of the day some weather will help another practice or two will help, and then will challenge those guys to just be more consistently energetic. alyssa: spring football obviously the main focus it's to be improving every single day as a team because you don't have the pressure of facing and preparing for another team each and every week. 28 returning seniors for this eagles team veteran leadership to guide them through as they try to improve the rest of this spring, and hoping the weather improves the rest of the spring as well as they get ready for the red and white scrimmage coming up on april 28. for now in cheney, alyssa charlston, kxly4
