"the american arena leagu received written notification from the doom ownership group that they would not be participating in the 2018 aal playoffs as is their right under the terms of their a-a-l territory agreement and operations manual," bowman wrot in an e-mail. the a-a-l is not required to know all the specifics of the doom's decision, only that the team followed the proper league protocol in following through with its decision." bowman ended the e-mail with this line-- "the georgia doom are i good standing with the a-a-l and we look forward to many great years of the doom playing in macon in the a-a-l." a league release on sunday said the doom's ownership is in the process of negotiating a deal to add a second team to their portfolio for next season, but that didn't really explain why they weren't going to the playoffs this season. we still haven't heard back from doom owner and general manager kevin adkins. we did, however, speak with head coach gerald dockery, who said to his knowledge no opt-out e-mail had been sent to the league. there was supposed to be a team meeting at the wingate hotel in north macon this afternoon, but about an hour before it was supposed to start, we learned it had been canceled until further notice. sources say there was a meeting tonight. they also say some players had their furniture taken out of their apartments tonight. we reached out to spectra, the company that manages the centreplex, where the doom plays their home games, to ask about the doom's future there. they haven't heard anything from
