http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12453/7373227?cpt=8&wpid=2637 Thu, 14 Jun 2018 03:29:16 +0000 Utica City announcement PKG Pro soccer coming to Utica http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12453/7373227?cpt=8&wpid=2637 WKTV announced to be coming this winter. the former syracuse silver knights will be moving to the adirondack bank center and become utica city f-c. nats: "i stand here very proud today to grant utica city the latest membership in the masl, congratulations." welcome in utica city f-c. the newest tennant of the adirondac just a day before the five year anniversary of the announcement of the utica comets - the success of that franchise has ushered in a new era with professionalindoor town. rob esche: "it's the strength of the fans of the utica comets and the support of the city of utica and our county that has forged this path."utca city ithe newesmembe of the major arena soccer league - or m-a-s-l. it's a multi-national league that has teams in the u-s - canada and mexico. the transformation of the adirondack bank center and the location of the area made this the perfect spot to help the league grow. joshua schaub: "looking at this facility it's an outstanding facity to be apart of and just the soccer community in general in this region of new york i think is going to lend itself to giving us a great product overall and a great addition to our league" tommy tanner: "being in utica we're in the middle of albany and syracuse, which is another huge draw of soccer fans so we're looking forward to not only being utica's team, but upstate new york's team." the league consists of 24- games frodecember march - 12 of played at the aud. local leaders had a message for the league and new players when those home games do com mayor robert palmieri: "you will never see fans more passionate, more understanding, more into it than you'll find inutica, ny and the surrounding area." i think they got the message. spencer: what have you heard about the fan base here from the com... - joshua schaub: wild, i'm going to cut you off. i heard the atmosphere in here is absolutely outstanding and i can't wait to see it in arena soccer. i will tell you toughoutur leag, monterey, mexico, senora, mexico, baltimore, san diego, milwaukee all have tremendous atmospheres. i'm looking forward to the atmosphere here inutica.liam callahan: it seemsa really exciting environment, we talkedto a couple of people alr and they said the fans are crazy which is something we're definitely looking forward to. again, just going to aew place is eiting, meetinnew peop, seeing different things, i think the overall buzz again, everything seemed amazing so far so again we're all excited. so what can the fans expect to see from this new league that's making its way intotown? joshua schaub: "fast, physical, a lot of goals. as we said in the press conference, if you like hockey, you'regoing tonjoy ara soccer, a lot more scoring, it's like outdoor but with a lot more physicality and a l more speed and i think that's what people are going to enjoy." liam callahan: "i'd say we're probably a blue collar team, you know we have a lot of goplayerst the end of the day we kind of have that upstate new york feeling to it where we get down, we get dirty and we're just a blue collar that works our butts off. now that utica city f-c is heree ground running - and don't want to just arrive but want to thrive. tommy tanner: "my expectation is to make this the model franchise of the masl. i thk with roesche anhis utica comets staff becomin part of the utica city fc staffe wil the model franchise." though the franchise may be leaving syracuse - the goalwill championship caliber soccer to fans in upstate new york. tommy tanner: "we're continuing the tradition, and we're continuing the tradition of soccer in upstateew york. we're the only professional soccer team in upstate new yorka and look forward to a great season." guys - the 2018-19 season will officially begin on december first. season ticket sales go on sale tomorrow at the aud.
