http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12833/7383111?cpt=8&wpid=2637 Fri, 06 Jul 2018 15:37:09 +0000 Local Sensei Aims to Bring Martial Arts Virtues to Title 1 Schools A local martial arts studio is bringing its wisdom and lessons of discipline, respect and mastering the mind & body to title one schools. http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12833/7383111?cpt=8&wpid=2637 WTAT four news now. oh and happy friday will some of you among us to wake up each day is striving to be better than you were yesterday. whether you realize it or not. that philosophy is called kai zen in japanese the literal trans a translation meaning continuous change for better well this philosophy is also the foundation for new organization founded by our first guests were joined by sensei at yon egress to fourth degree black belt and you are part of the cousin way you're also sensei at master studio. so before we get into cousin way i want to learn more about you and your history with marshall is how long have you been practicing my parents signed me up into martial arts classes at the west ash location of master studios in january of nineteen ninety five so we were immigrants from former soviet union. i was twelve came to the states and i was fourteen my parents put me into it they thought would be a good idea. a teenager with a thick accent something about it would be good to be involved in something positive. the reason why stuck with it is because of my instructors phil and mike really alot to those guys doing amazing. anyone that's had a brush with these guys or other martial arts mentors really appreciate that feeling that these guys want them to be better when they leave they were when they came and and that's just so important to the martial art instruction atmosphere is pretty much the philosophy cross all martial arts. hey now don't say so i think people who teach martial arts they you know and it is about the martial art but really the martial art is the means for helping people better themselves that's really the point guys and it is is is a perfect example of that kind of philosophy and how the martial arts types are there different styles you can say infinite so many that no one knows them all every really every group of people in their roots how a form of fighting an expression that way so who are so numerous which is the one that you gravitated towards. so master studios it's shall encompass karate which is a karate kung fu blended system great to get a good workout. great for learning self defense and healthy expression and wilson teach tai chee which is the belief older population it's less impact on the body it softer. its was so focused for health and can food training for flow of movement and flexibility so hobby as a hobby is great but then it's a healthy hobby and it's good for learning self defense well i grew up watching all the kung fu movies with bruce lee with my dad every saturday now caught karate is the japanese part of a kung fu is chinese and then so that the blending of that yes there is similar in many ways said there are definitely distinct play was between the two. what are some of the basic principles that students take away from taking martial arts you know i have to go back to kai zen it's about being better tomorrow. hey i just think it's really personal. many people get into martial arts for staying healthy and learning self defense but they stick with it because they love the personal growth and development aspect and some of the principles and some of the elements i've looked at the mental focus of course the physical conditioning technique strategy absolute there's so many aspects of lifestyle so that goes into living a healthy lifestyle is well absolutely. otherwise what's the point you know if if if i'm just purely focus on self defense. many people just get guns and that's the end of that and this time a place for it but then the day you know it's it's really about me making the most so if what i have right here my mind my body being the best together working in harmony on the inside as well as to the outside world and the deep with the eastern philosophies of growth and how one should behave in situations such as those taking class and practice saying things like that there are five animals the only teen couple karate than those in the shallow and animals tiger leopard crane dragon and snake dire techniques and movements that are associated with them there is a way of being and philosophy behind each animal but again all of that is for life is complex and there's so much happens we make decisions unconsciously every day thousands of them. what drives those decisions and that's a part of learning martial arts is developing that healthy choice making this can make a better person very multifaceted but we do need to take a break but when we come back we're going to be learning more about the centre's new non profit bringing
