KRGV looking at nearly 50-thousand dollars in damage. channel five's carolina cruz learned they could soon see some relief. he squared away the day's earning, locked up, and headed home. the next day would be unforgettable. it was a very hard day, a terrible day for us alfredo trevino woke up at 4am- worried - water was rising inside his second home. he saw it through surveillance footage. cameras captured room after room flooding in his nearly decade old mom&pop restaurant. he couldn't do much. only wait and rely on faith we used the best equipment and strategy; we relied on god the team got to work once the foot of water receded. they cleaned up inches of mud left behind. things are back to normal now- almost. as you can see there's a humidifier, we rented these industrial ones. you can see the holes in the wall so the moisture is released. this runs 24/7 stripping any water trapped inside the walls trevino is one of the lucky ones. he's operating again. the u.s. small business administration - office of disaster assistance is helping small businesses recover. today the agency opened a recovery center in weslaco . the business community in weslaco was affected tremendously. it may be 3 months, it may be 6 months, it may be 9 months, but one thing that you know as an agency , we are here to make sure that business owner will continue to sustain themselves throughout whatever recovery period is necessary the agency offers loans to affected businesses in hidalgo and cameron county. the funds are giving small business owners a chance to repair or replace any disaster damaged property, machinery, even loss in revenue due to being closed. loan amounts vary- but corey williams says the agency will stick around to help as long as needed. the business owner i spoke to says he had some saving that are making recovery easier. we're going to include information to the business recovery center in weslaco on our webpage. business owners just one of many needing help. here mcallen many homeowners suffered thousands in damage. we're going to be taking donation through the rest of this hour. earlier today we had one non profit stop by with a big donation. but we still need more to offer help to as many families as we can. if you weren't affected someone you know probably was. whether it's a friend, a family member, or someone down the block from you. these are families that are having to come up with thousands of dollars - often times out of their own pocket due to not having flood insurance. we are aiming to a minimum goal of 30 thousand dollars. we have three sponsors waiting to match that. help us get there to help flood victims throughout the entire
